In order to get kids to start saving money, "let them set a savings goal and invite others (grandparents?) to contribute. Go to smartypig.com.(TOTALLY FREE!!!)

"It's fine to let your preschoolers know that your family is trying to save money. IN fact, here are three ways to get him to pitch in. COUPONS-YOUR CHILD CAN CLIP THEM FROM THE PAPER OR HOLD THEM FOR YOU AT THE STORE (i have mine pull the coupons from the blinkie machines at the grocery store- he loves it!!!) RECYCLING-ASK YOUR KID TO SORT THE BOTTLES AND GO WITH YOU TO A RECYCLING CENTER WHERE YOU CAN TRADE THEM FOR MONEY. COINS- PUT YOUR CHILD IN CHARGE OF KEEPING THE FAMILY'S JAR FOR SMALL CHANGE."
